Food is not just a source of energy. Food is information. It provides essential signals to your body’s cells, including your nervous and immune system. What you eat and how your body reacts to it directly influence your emotions and performance levels.

Many of our clients seeking help with emotional disorder also suffer from any number of gastrointestinal symptoms. At My Health 101, many clients benefit from a more detailed evaluation of their various gastrointestinal functions.  Symptoms such as epigastric burning, dyspepsia, bloating, abdominal pain, constipation, diarrhea or IBS can be the result of maldigestion, malabsorbtion, Dysbiosis, and/or chronic undetected inflammation.

Chronic Maldigestion can lead to bacterial/fungal overgrowth and alterations in your gut permeability. Toxins and large molecules that escape the intestinal barrier can enter the general circulation, inflame the liver, burden the body’s detoxification system, alter your brain chemistry and increase the risk for food allergies, joint disease, and imbalances in overall health.

Malabsorbtion can also lead to deficiencies of nutrients, proteins, carbohydrates and fats. This can result in long term health complaints such as emotional disorders, anemia, malnutrition, impaired metabolism and other diseases, such as osteoporosis.
